Merteuil: Enikő Éder
Valmont: Attila Harsányi

Director: József Balog

Drawn from the 18th-century novel ''Les Liaisons Dangereuses,'' Heiner Muller's ''Quartet'' is a dense, four-character dialogue to be played by two actors, dealing in philosophical terms with forbidden games of decadence and depravity. Merteuil and Valmont assume each other's roles and also act as the objects of each other's passion. ''We should let tigers play our parts,'' says Valmont, adding that the two are participating in ''the stage craft of wild beasts.''

Premiere: Arad, the 2nd of October 2011
